Welcoming and integrating new board members is essential to long-term board success. An orientation program should be held before the first board meeting (following elections) to establish the appropriate environment in which the board will operate. This program will review fundamental topics that should be covered in a successful orientation process.

Speaker Marjorie Meyer, CMCA, PCAM, has been active in the real estate and construction industry since 1971. In 1980, she established Prime Site, Inc., a community association management company. In 2001, she sold her company to Associa and joined their corporate office team. As their vice president, she established Associa’s professional development program and created an online customer service course.
Marjorie has been an active volunteer with CAI since 1982. She has served in leadership positions on both the board and the executive committee. She is a member of CAI’s national faculty and is an active member of the Greater Houston chapter. In 2007, she received CAI's Educator of the Year award. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Florida State University.
